Healthy Recipes: Sugar-free Chocolate Avocado Mousse!

This week on MyWellBeingJournal it’s Avocado Week – a week where avocados are championed for their heart-health purposes and all round tasty goodness.

And we’re celebrating in style – with 10 healthy avocado recipes, designed for breakfast, lunch & dinner. So buy a big ole’ batch of the glorious fruit and treat yourself to a week of green! Now we’re on to avocado recipe no.10 – the last one! –  and of course we saved the best til last…

Indulgent Double Chocolate Avocado Mousse

All you need is:

  • 2 ripe avocados, cubed
  • 100g honey
  • 40g cacao powder
  • 20g cacao nibs or unsweetened chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp almond milk
  • ½ tsp almond extract (my favourite!)
  • ½ tsp chia powder (optional)

All you need to do is:

In a blender, mix the milk, cacao powder, nibs, chia powder, honey, almond extract and avocado flesh until smooth. Add a little more honey or even a little lime juice if you don’t feel it’s sweet enough or needs the cacao to be broken up slightly. Now you can scoop it into ramekins, refrigerate for 1 hour and, once set, it’s ready to serve up! Sprinkle with a few flaked nuts to decorate.
