Generally, I avoid ice-cream. Not because it isn’t bloody delicious, but because it’s just a big pot of sin… composing of tonnes of cream (duh!), heaps of sugar and unnatural additives, it’s so bad for you and so addictive you don’t realise how bad it is until you’ve reached the bottom of the guilt-ridden pot!
So as my IBS got worse and I started to react more and more to unhealthy sugary foods, I traded in ice-cream for natural yogurt. This has been great for me and meant my IBS symptoms severely decreased – however, I did start really missing the unmistakable ice-cream goodness I remembered of days of yore. To which, I started making my own healthy banana ice-cream and chunky monkey ice-cream, which were both fab but took a lot of preparation and a sturdier blender than I had!
That’s why when I tried Okobay I felt like a huge weight had been lifted.
Okobay Healthy Ice-Cream Review
This coconut-based ice cream is free from dairy, lactose, soy, egg, nuts, gluten, GMO and artificial additives. Phew! This means it’s suitable for vegans, vegetarians and great for those who lead a dairy-free lifestyle.

Super healthy and with only the tiniest bit of sugar, you’ll feel better – not worse – after a big old dollop of this stuff! It’s also not your typical ice-cream because it’s not full of empty calories – the huge amounts of coconut milk in the place of cream and sugar means you’ll feel fuller for longer thanks to the satiating qualities naturally present in the humble coconut.
So come on – make a clever ice-cream decision… bin off Ben & Jerry’s and get yourself some Okobay before I eat it all!
